Shortly before midnight, Dave tapped the side of the log, to set the time
The log had to learn to tell the time properly.
Every transmission now carries a complete numerical timestamp beneath its title: year, month, day, hour, minute, second, and UTC offset. No vague dates, instead the precision you expect from a proper rolling log: 2026-08-10 21:48:56 +02:00.
The site wordmark has gained a discreet live clock in the same format. It is synchronized with the server in the Europe/Berlin timezone, automatically accounts for summer and winter time, and periodically checks that it has not drifted.
The clock is deliberately small. No flashing control panels, no deafening alarms and, so far, no countdown to a reactor breach.
Dave tapped the side of the log. The digits settled into place.
The final outpost knows exactly when it was and when it will be.
